2024 Events

This year, I’ve spoken to the San Francisco History Association at Temple Sherith Israel (on historic social services orgs), and to Shaping San Francisco (with Lorri Ungaretti, author of Vanished San Francisco). There will likely be at least a couple more talks, maybe some media appearances.

2023 Events

In 2023, I took Oldest San Francisco to the Commonwealth Club, the San Francisco Public Library, the Mechanics’ Institute, McRoskey Mattress Company Loft, Book Passage and Books Inc. Thanks to all these institutions — and to Robin McRoskey Azevedo, Tom Carey, George Hammond, Mary Roach, Alyssa Stone and Michael Tucker, who helped frame the events.

2022 Events

In 2022, I did readings from my novel Until It Shimmers, followed by Q&As, in San Francisco, Toronto and Montreal. One of them was recorded — link here. I am grateful to the bookstores and literary institutions that hosted: Fabulosa, the Mechanics’ Institute and Book Passage (in the SF-Bay Area); Glad Day, Different Drummer and Curiosity House (in the greater Toronto area); Argo Books and the Violet Hour (in Montreal). And grateful also to the editors and writers who hosted the events, including Sasha Chapman, Christopher DiRaddo, Andrea Donderi, Matthew Félix, Alison Hills, Kelly Pullen, Mark Pupo. Gordy Slack and Emily Wilson. Merci beaucoup! (At least a couple of the readings were done in Quebec, so feel I should be able to get away with that.)
